…get all the correct pieces together.

You are not always RIGHT!

“Marry someone who’ll fight you back, ‘coz you are not always right.” -a father to a son

Perhaps, this is one of the best pieces of advice that I heard coming from a father to his son who’s planning to get married; a good reminder that we are not always right.

MEN. You are the head and it doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll reject other ideas, for your own sake. Learn to pause, listen, and evaluate all the ideas coming from you and from your BELOVED partner. Thus, you are making her beautiful and loved.

WOMEN. You are the ‘suitable helper’ and it doesn’t mean you have the authority to act greater than your man. Learn to suggest your ideas and not to dictate. Learn to express your love by respecting him.

“GOD put the Man into a deep sleep. As he slept he removed one of his ribs and replaced it with flesh. GOD then used the rib that he had taken from the Man to make Woman and presented her to the Man. The Man said, “Finally! Bone of my bone, flesh of my flesh! Name her Woman for she was made from Man.” (Genesis 2:21-23, The Message)

  1. A sound bit of advice and a good reminder of what a relationship should look like.
Oh yeah… the scripture is a great exclamation point.
